WE are precious and special, but our fears are not.” Elizabeth Gilbert
Sometimes someone will say something very powerful and it will resonate all the way to your soul. Elizabeth Gilbert said “ Your fear is boring” . that was all I had to hear to laugh and notice that I was boring and making my world smaller by the moment.
I was in a car accident early this summer. Not a bad one -- just a basic everyday ordinary get side swiped while going through a left turn car accident. The car was undrivable and needed quite a bit of work done to it. I am grateful it was not worse. I walked away a little shaken but okay. I was meeting a friend for lunch and the accident happened right in front of the restaurant we were meeting . I was driven home and I had a great buddy with me.
After my accident I decided I was too anxious to drive on expressways. Yep I was going to get everywhere I ever want to go on surface roads for the rest of my life. I know that would be quite challenging as I live in Michigan which pretty much is all highway. But I decided I just would do it and never talk about it, no one would ever notice.
Well, then I wanted to go to Art Prize an awesome Art exhibit -- a mere 142 miles away.
Right then I said, "Fear, you are so boring." And hopped in the car with my sister to drive that 142 miles.
We had a day of inspiration. Art truly does heal.

Fear you ARE so boring!
Do you have any fears you want to decide are boring?
